Merthyr Green Awareness Day

Merthyr Town Centre
Friday August 14th 2009: 9am – 5pm

Merthyr Tydfil residents have organised a ‘green awareness day’ this Friday, to raise awareness of climate change; explore ways to reduce our carbon footprint; demonstrate alternative energy sources and show that green jobs in Merthyr could be a reality!

Several stalls at the town market will include:

  • Representation from sustainable energy firms, bio-fuel, and recycled insulation manufacturers, showing that the fight against climate change is practical and possible right here, right now.
  • Merthyr council will be supplying info on their recycling scheme.
  • Friends of the Earth will have information on climate change, and practical ways of how we can all tackle it.
  • Climate Camp representatives will be present to communicate the camp ethos, what it’s all about and what we are trying to achieve.

We’ll see you there.
